Anyone would be in awe with the sight of the islands of Phang Nga Bay. The beauty of these islands became world renowned thanks to the 1973 James Bond movie "Man with the Golden Gun".
We can view the "James Bond Islands" by boat or from several lookout points in Phang Nga. One of the most popular (some say the best) is Samet Nangshe Viewpoint.
We drove here (about an hour from Phuket) and parked our vehicle at the base where we were transferred to a pickup to make the final short, steep (3 minute) ascent to the lookout.
Samet Nangshe Viewpoint reputedly offers the best sunrise views of Phang Nga Bay, hence it opens at 4am for sunrise buffs. We got here in the afternoon, on our way to Khao Lak.
There is Bay View Cafe at the summit of the lookout. It serves coffee, cakes, pastries, as well as Western and Thai dishes.
This hanging rattan swing chair was one of the favourites. There's a queue to use it 😅😂
