Piki Pops & Drool has been operating along Jalan Tan Hiok Nee for two years. I am trying it for the first time today 😄
It used to be the car park collection booth, now converted to an ice cream, smoothie and cold dessert kiosk. Quite inconspicuous, no wonder I missed it, until now.
It is on the same side of Jalan Tan Hiok Nee as the famous Hiap Joo banana cake, one of my favourite Tapu Tart, and popular Dona Bakehouse. The tiny kiosk is easy to miss but easy to find once you know where it is.
I ordered chendol, one of my favourite cold desserts.
Soft pandan jelly, boiled red beans, thick creamy coconut milk, gula Melaka palm sugar and ice cubes.
Then, bubur chacha, another of my favourite traditional desserts.
Two kinds of sweet potatoes, yam, and sago beads soaking in rich coconut milk.
Always enjoyed a cold bubur chacha, especially on hot days.
Piki Pops & Drool has a few other cold dessert concoctions such as grass jelly, etc.
Piki Pops & Drool also has smoothies and ice cream. They have strawberry & blueberry, kiwi & passion fruit, lychee & melon.
I chose a strawberry & blueberry smoothie. So refreshing.
When you are on your Johor Bahru Old Town foodie trail, check out Piki Pops & Drool. I enjoyed the chendol, bubur chacha, and strawberry & blueberry smoothie. Busted my sugar quota 🤭 , so had to take a rain check for the ice cream and other cold desserts, until next time.
