The noodle block with two sachets of seasoning powder and garnishing.

There was an interesting piece of dried seaweed on the noodle block.

The noodle block was clean and had very little trace of grease.

The seasoning powder was a mix of natural extracts like anchovy, artificial taste enhancers, MSG and preservatives.

The garnish consisted of various freeze dried flakes like seaweed and bits of fried batter.

The noodles were ready to eat in 5 minutes.

I like these thick noodles because they were soft and bouncy. They were clean tasting with a wheat flavour.

Although the label says "udon type", the noodles were the usual wheat based curly instant noodles.

Not much taste or flavour in the piece of dried seaweed but the softly chewy mouth feel was quite pleasant.

The tea coloured broth was mildly savoury and gently spicy. It was quite likable and drinkable.

The result of the dip stick test was very good. There was hardly any grease sticking to the dip stick.

  1. I recently tried this type and I was so confused at what that rectangular strip was. I bought it in an all-korean package, meaning all were written in characters I didn't know. I thought it was something to keep off the moisture but somehow, instinctively, I place it with all the other spices and ate it. It still felt weird tho and I'm glad I found out that it was just a strip of seaweed. Your post is very informative and short. Thanks! P.S. Taste was good, but I prefer it somewhat spicier. ;)
