Thai Festival 2022 @ Royal Thai Embassy Orchard Road • Muay Thai, Food, Crafts, Dances • Free Entry 4 - 6 Nov

The popular annual Thai Festival is back at the Royal Thai Embassy at Orchard Road from today (4 Nov) till 6 Nov (Sun), 10am - 8pm. There are the well loved cultural shows, cooking demonstrations by Michelin awarded Thai chefs, food stalls, craft stalls, and for the first time, Muay Thai competitions.

This year's Thai Festival was launched today by Thailand's ambassador to Singapore HE Chutintorn Gongsakdi and graced by Constance See, DG Southeast Asia II, Singapore MFA.

The Thai Festival is an annual event held within the Royal Thai Embassy grounds promoting Thailand through Thai culture, products, and cuisine. The last Thai Festival was held in 2019, followed by a two year hiatus due to the Covid pandemic. Many of us regulars at past Thai Festivals looked forward eagerly to today's festival launch.

For the first time, this year's Thai Festival will feature Muay Thai, the national sport of Thailand.

Muay Thai is a uniquely Thai martial art and contact sport, deeply rooted in Thai cultural heritage.

Visitors to the Thai Festival will have a chance to watch WBC Muay Thai Singapore sanctioned Muay Thai competitions featuring the best local, Thai and international Muay Thai boxers.

This was the closest I ever got to a Muay Thai ring side seat. This is an opportunity Muay Thai fans should not miss.

The ever popular cultural show of graceful traditional Thai dances will again grace the festival.

Traditional dancers from other ASEAN countries will add colour and the ASEAN spirit to the festivities.

During the three days of festivities from 4 to 6 Nov, there are over 30 stalls selling Thai food, jewelry, clothing, accessories, home decor, and other Thai craft products.

I spent my afternoon exploring the stalls.

Follow me.

If you appreciate handcrafted products, there's bound to be something that catches your eye, if not capture your heart ❤️

For me, you already know, the way to my heart is through my stomach 😬

There are more than 10 Thai food stalls to choose from and I haven't count the Thai beer stalls 🍻😬

So, if you didn't make it to Thailand this weekend, Thailand comes to you at the Thai Festival in Royal Thai Embassy at Orchard Road, 4 - 6 Nov, 10am - 8pm. Free entry. Oh.... there's a daily lucky draw of air tickets and hotel stays, if you stay till the end.

Good luck!
