Seasoning powder. Not much aroma and smells synthetic.



The freeze dried garnishing from the sachet. There were bits of dehydrated carrot, mushroom, chives, fried tofu, and chili pepper.  



Just add boiling water and the cup of noodles were ready to eat within 5 minutes.



The curly noodles were soft and had a nice spring. Slight wheat taste. The noodles were quite likable :D

The bits of garnishing, though tasteless, had quite interesting bite, especially the bouncy mushrooms.



The broth was mildly spicy, salty and had not much body. There was not much aroma from the broth except for a very faint synthetic smell. There wasn't any mushroom flavour nor taste.




Dip stick test - Quite a bit of grease got stuck to the dip stick.

Prima Taste Singapore Curry La Mian Instant Noodles

Prima Taste Curry La Mian Instant Noodles from Singapore. This instant noodle retails at SGD2.75 or RM7.10 for a packet, which is a premium price.



Inside the large packet are the noodle block and two sachets - one curry paste and one curry premix. Everything inside is upsized.




The very clean looking noodle block. There was not a trace of oil as it was made with "steam and air-dry" technology. Clearly a premium instant noodle.



When I snipped open the sachet, there was a pleasant crustacean fragrance from the rempah (spicy chili paste). A little red coloured oil oozed from the paste.



The curry premix powder released a fragrance like that of coconut candy.



The thick and large block of noodles needed 7 minutes in boiling water to cook but this bowl of aromatic curry noodle was still ready within 10 minutes :D



The round noodles were quite fat. They were smooth, soft and more bouncy than average. The noodles had a very slight wheat taste.



The curry broth had good body with nice spice aromas and taste. The spice flavour was mild and it wasn't too spicy. This curry la mian differs from Prima Taste's Laksa La Mian which has more hae bee (dried shrimps) in the sambal paste. So, Prima Taste's Curry La Mian is a good alternative for curry lovers who don't like too much robust hae bee taste or flavour.

Prima Taste Singapore Curry La Mian Instant Noodles was made wholly with natural ingredients. There was no MSG, no preservatives, artificial colouring or flavouring.




The dip stick test - not too oily. The broth was nice enough and I feel comfortable enough to drink up all of it in the bowl.

Ottogi Yeul Ramen Instant Noodles

The Ottogi Yeul Ramen Instant Noodles from Korea comes in an attractive colourful packet.



Inside the packet - the noodle block with the sachets of seasoning and garnishing.



The red hot coloured seasoning powder.



The freeze dried garnishing consisting of tiny bits of mushrooms, spring onions and chili.



Hot noodle soup was ready within 10 minutes. The garnishing gave the bowl of noodle soup some colour but the tiny bits were nearly tasteless.



The noodles are slightly thicker than average. Soft with a slight gummy bounce. Slight wheat taste.



The broth had a slight body. It was savoury with a spicy kick that lingered but it was not overly hot. I like this.

The MSG taste was very slight and I could drink up most of the broth.

However, there was not much aroma from the broth.




The dip stick test - not much grease in the Yeul Ramen broth - a plus point.

Overall, Yeul Ramen is a likable, economical instant noodle.

Comes in a large paper cup.



Peel off the lid and inside, there were the noodle block with two sachets plus a small plastic fork.




The generous noodle block was thick and chunky.



The sachets of seasoning powder and garnishing.



The seasoning powder. No much aroma, and smelled a bit sourish and synthetic.



The freeze dried garnishing added some colour but was almost tasteless.



Preparation couldn't be easier. Just add boiling water, wait 4 minutes and we can start eating. But, the cup of noodles didn't look inviting.......



The curly noodles were soft and slightly bouncy. It tasted of wheat which is good but the noodles were ruined by the "broth".



The broth was salty, and slightly spicy and sour. Other than that, the broth was flavourless and tasteless except for a faint chemical aftertaste. The watery broth also had no body.

I couldn't take more than a couple of spoonfuls for taste testing.

The rehydrated garnishing didn't help much as they were scanty, limp and tasteless.

Myojo Spicy Mushroom Flavour Cup Instant Noodle

Myojo Spicy Mushroom Flavour Cup Instant Noodle.



Comes in a large paper cup.



In the cup, the noodle block, sachet of seasoning and sachet of garnish.



The large and thick noodle block.



The seasoning powder.



Bits of freeze dried mushrooms, taupok (fried tofu), spring onions and chili flakes.



This was very easy to prepare. Just add boiling water, wait 4 minutes and you have a hot cup of instant noodles in spicy broth.



Noodles were soft and slightly bouncy. It had a clean, wheat taste. These were "straight noodles" instead of the usual curly instant noodles.  



Broth was slightly tangy, mildly spicy, and quite salty. It had no body and had a slight chemical aftertaste. I didn't find the broth's flavour and taste appealing. I couldn't detect the "mushroom flavour" as it overpowered by the broth's saltiness. I didn't want to finish the broth.

The bits of freeze dried mushroom and taupok (fried tofu) were quite interesting but there was very little of it to make an impact.
