Malaysia Boleh! Jurong Point Chicken Rice Stall
Today, I dropped by Malaysia Boleh! food court at Jurong Point to try their Ipoh style chicken rice.
I was attracted by this display of large, chrysanthemum colour, succulent chicken in the stall window and told myself that I must come back for this.
This chicken rice stall is quite popular.
Ah Meng who is in charge of this chicken rice stall at Malaysia Boleh! hails from Sabah and had worked in chicken rice stalls in Ipoh.
Ah Meng cooks the chicken the way it is done in Ipoh.
Ah Meng hand washes the taugeh or bean sprouts which are imported from Ipoh for their plump, juicy, pearly stalk.
Ah Meng's assistant does the chopping and cooking at the stall front.
The neatly chopped chicken are served at room temperature.
The chicken meat was smooth, tender and slightly sweet.
The taugeh were plump, juicy and crunchy. The bean sprouts were bathe in a house blended savoury, slightly sweet light sauce. The taugeh were cooked well as most people prefer it this way. Personally, I prefer my bean sprouts less cooked so that I can still taste hints of the raw taugeh flavour and taste. Next time, I shall request the stall holder to cook it a little less long :D
The rice was fragrant and the grains were of good quality. The rice were cooked a little soft today. I prefer my rice to have more bite.
I like the chili sauce here at Malaysia Boleh! as it is savoury and has a good spicy kick.
