Ah Huat owner-chef of Fu Shi Traditional Roasted. Wanton Mee stall at Marsiling Mall food centre is constantly improving his char siew, roast pork belly, roast duck and noodles. They were already very good when I first had them years ago - today, Ah Huat has taken his craft to new heights.

Bumped into Ah Huat at a hawker centre and we chatted over kopi. The topic inevitably centred around what else? New places to eat which we uncovered recently. Ah Huat suggested that I check out Jew Kit Hainanese Chicken Rice at Sembawang Shopping Centre. He has been there several times and he liked it.

Feeling famish after crossing back to Singapore from JB, I went to the nearest hawker centre, Marsiling Lane Market & Food Centre for a quick bite. I zeroed in on Selera Menanti Traditional Malay Cuisine stall as it had the longest queue. Tried their soto ayam and loved it. I shall be tasting their menu one by one whenever I come by this way again.

928 Yishun Laksa · One of my Top Five Favourites in Singapore ⭐⭐⭐⭐

There's a running joke among Singaporeans that Yishun is a strange place known for many negative things like a slasher, cat killer, and other weird happenings. That, of course, are all tongue in cheek, poking fun at Yishun folks. Maybe, the rest of us are just jealous that Yishun people have so many nice food like 925 chicken rice, Chong Pang Chuan Kee duck rice, and this 928 laksa 😂

When I saw Dr Leslie Tay of iEatiShootiPost shared about the char siew at Shi Mei Roasted.Chicken Rice at block 211 Marsiling Crescent, I was eager to try it as I am a Cantonese roasts fan. As I happened to be in Singapore today, I popped over to Lucky Star Eating House, where the popular roasts stall is located.

I was introduced to Siang Siang by a friend who grew up with this fishball noodles from the Kampong Chong Pang days. We come to Chong Pang Hawker Centre for lunch occasionally and we would often have Siang Siang fish ball noodles. We would never get tired of it.
