Asam Pedas Ikan Pari @ Ali Asam Pedas in Batu Pahat, Johor, Malaysia

 
It could be because it was my first time tasting asam pedas and I was fortunate enough to taste it in Batu Pahat, the asam pedas Capital of Malaysia.

I was simply wowed and bowled over by the amazing taste and flavour of the ikan pari (stingray) at Ali Asam Pedas along Jalan Shahbandar in Batu Pahat.

The chunky thick piece of ikan pari was soaking in a dish of creamy, fiery looking asam pedas gravy.

The tender flesh of the ikan pari soaks up the asam pedas like a sponge
As the ikan pari was ocean fresh, needless to say, it was juicy sweet. When doused with that marvellous sour, sweet and spicy hot asam pedas, we get a wonderfully delicious treat.

This is so good, I am still thinking about the lingering pleasure and longing to go back to Batu Pahat to try other asam pedas stalls there – there are many more great asam pedas stalls here.
