Sri Tebrau kway teow kia 大马花园粿條仔 is one of the oldest names in Johor Bahru.
阿祥 Ah Xiang, the third generation at the helm
The old style 古早味 braising broth of Sri Tebrau kway teow kia is dark, savoury and just delicately herbal. The braising sauce is not too oily, and is tasty and highly drinkable. The braising sauce is also not loaded with salt or MSG - I did not thirst even after slurping it all up :P
I especially like the naturally sweet taste of Sri Tebrau kway teow kia's braised pork and organs.
Sri Tebrau's braised pork and organs have a delightful, springy bite and texture. The braised pork and organs have just the right delicately chewy feel that is neither rubbery, too soft nor hard.
Dip the chewy, bouncy pork and organs in the braising broth and this chili sauce, and I got one of the tastiest kway teow kia that I have tasted so far.

Sri Tebrau kway teow kia is definitely holding its own as one of the best kway teow kia in JB.

DeleteThe best time to go eat this is before 12 noon, as it gets crowded after that time. By 1 pm most of the items would have been sold out.
