Visited the pasar malam at Taman Puteri Wangsa in Ulu Tiram, Johor this Friday evening :-D

The 100 plus pasar malam stalls are set up around Jalan Badik 16 and 19.

Jackfruit seller. RM12 per kilo.

I am not sure what this was. The seller calls it "abang petai" the big brother of stinky beans.

Hakka "abacus" 算盤子 - yam and minced pork wrapped in rice flour cakes. A Hakka staple not commonly sold in Singapore.

Ikan bilis - an important ingredient in Malaysian cooking comes in many different grades.

  1. The abang petai is called Jering/Jengkol i.e dogfruit. Then the nasi lemak is not actually nasi lemak. It's nasi ayam penyet.. Awesome review anyway..
