Black Castle Bistro Bukit Indah Johor Bahru CLOSED

Chef Eddie invited me to visit Black Castle Bistro, his new restaurant in Bukit Indah (near the JUSCO mall).

Black Castle boasts an imposing two storey tall facade but I couldn't see it at street level. I drove past it and had to turn back. Can't miss it when looking at it from a distance away though.

The interior reminds me both of English pubs and German beer houses.

Black Castle sports a large screen which is great for watching big games. (Noted it down for watching World Cup 2016 ;-D )

I first met Chef Eddie at his other restaurant Greenet in Taman Maju Jaya (JB) and also Cow Palace in Singapore. Trained in London's Barking & Dagenham College, Eddie worked a decade in London and the Czech Republic before returning to his hometown, JB. Chef Eddie wears many hats and is an expert in sauces and seasonings.

Chef Eddie let us try his pork belly, pork ribs and T-bone steak. These are off menu items at the moment and it is best to pre-order at tel: +607 232 6078.

We first tried the Castle Pork Belly RM 68++.

It's a thick strip cut from the pork belly with lean meat, fat and skin on. Marinated in Black Castle's house made sauce and oven baked.

The pork belly is served on a bed of risotto.

Black Castle's pork belly is so darned impressive. So delicious.

Tender juicy meat, the fat layer juicy and sweet like a baked honey pear, the whole piece was a like a marshmallow saturated with gentle lovable flavours.

This is supposed to be a sharing portion for two persons (or three ladies ;-p ). But, before I knew it, I ate 3/4 of this strip - tender chunk by tender chunk all by myself.

The risotto also had just the right flavours and aromas though I prefer my rice to be more "nutty" in texture.

Next the giant Black Castle BBQ Pork Ribs RM105++.

It feeds four adults men easily.

The fresh rack of pork ribs was slathered with Black Castle's savoury sweet tangy BBQ sauce and baked.

The meat was almost fall-off-the-bone tender (meaning, it was perfectly right) and oh... so... juicy sweet and fresh tasting.

Black Castle's T-bone Steak with Guinness sauce RM168++.

A hearty steak for beef lovers.

Nicely done medium rare with a light rosy pink inside.

Again marshmallow tender, moist inside with gentle beefy flavours brought out by Chef Eddie's seasoning.

->> Black Castle is a meat lover's haven with a good range of fresh juices and alcohol to wash it down.

  1. What you published was actually very reasonable.
However, what about this? suppose you were
to write a awesome headline? I mean, I don't wish
to tell you how to run your blog, however what if you added something to possibly grab a person's
attention? I mean "Black Castle Bistro Bukit Indah Johor Bahru JK1346" is a little plain.
You should look at Yahoo's home page and note how they create article headlines to get people to open the
links. You might add a related video or a related
picture or two to get readers excited about what you've
got to say. In my opinion, it might make your posts a little livelier.

  3. They have closed down at Bukit Indah. Don't know if they re-located.
