Every time I am at 209 Kovan hawker centre, there is a queue at Fatt Soon Kueh. Why do so many people want to eat Fatt soon kueh?
One handles orders and another makes the kueh. Yes, the kueh are individually hand made fresh at the stall. The skin are hand kneaded from scratch with glutinous rice and tapioca flour. The kueh are freshly steamed. This partly accounts for the long queue and waiting time.
The steamed cakes sell for $1 a piece. $3 for box of three, can mix and match. I opted for 2 chive kueh and 1 soon kueh. Seldom eat png kueh nowadays because it's too much carbs for me.
They provide chili sauce and dark soy sauce in sachets but I didn't use them.
