I love soups, so I love steamboats but I don't enjoy those with too much ingredients as these make me busy cooking and so is not very relaxing 😂

Hence, I prefer fish head steamboat 鱼头炉, especially the relatively uncomplicated types like Lee Kwang Kee 李广记 at HDB block 212 Toa Payoh lorong 8.

Review of Cai Ji Fishball Noodle • Local Favourite @ Toa Payoh Blk 93 Hawker Centre 財記

This was my second time having Cai Ji Fishball Noodle.

Cai Ji Fishball has been an institution here since 1967. That was also the year my family moved to Toa Payoh. The area around Blk 93 market & food centre was my playground but I only ate here after I retired 🤣 Life is funny like that but (one of my life mottos is) better late than never 😬

Belly Shiok Chee Cheong Fun & Yam Cake • Tan Coffee in Toa Payoh Kim Keat Palm 食轩

Got up early to get to Kim Keat Palm hawker centre in Toa Payoh to avoid the queue at a famous stall. Not sure what they sell, but lined up promptly anyway 😄

Roti Corner (Homies Bakery) • Good Handmade Egg Tart @ 183 Toa Payoh Central

This wasn't in my plan. Hurrying along Toa Payoh Central to my destination on this stormy rainy morning. Stubborn me refused to carry an umbrella and even declined free of charge, sharing umbrellas provided at the MRT station. (Don't know who indoctrinated me with this silly dogma that officers do not use umbrellas under any circumstances 🙄 Perhaps, it was the US Air Force during my impressionable years.)
