The Nasi Padang stall at Qin Garden coffee shop along Jalan Trus Dhoby in old downtown Johor Bahru is one of the most popular in JB. (The Nasi Padang stall has been around for 20 years. The stall used to be at Kin Wah kopitiam, a couple of shops further south along Jalan Trus.)

Lots of colourful dishes to choose from. I estimate there are over 20 different dishes.

Customers help themselves to the colourful spread.

The friendly staff total up the bill based on the food and amount you picked.

Love these fresh, plump, juicy and crunchy lightly fried bean sprouts dressed with spring onions and chili peppers. I always get this when I am at Nasi Padang Qin Garden.

Spongy soft sweet mildly spicy egg plants are also one of my favourite Nasi Padang dishes.

The flavour of these cockles fried in chili is nice but the meat is quite chewy as it is cooked through.

Of course, there is the good old curry chicken.

We can have our Nasi Padang inside the rather small coffee shop.

Or, we can sit under these umbrellas set up along the shady foot path adjacent to the coffee shop.

See that green gateway arch? I am told that it is part of the boundary wall that used to demarcate the area between the Teochews and other Chinese communities in Johor Bahru in the old days.

My usual Nasi Padang lunch of fried bean sprouts, chili egg plant, and beef rendang. I added the chili quail eggs at the suggestion of Qin Garden kopitiam's lady boss Mdm Tian.

The quail eggs were delicious :-D

My friend KK's pick for lunch. My lunch today was KK's treat :-D

This was my first post on this Nasi Padang stall (from 2012) when it was in Kin Wah kopitiam. It moved in 2014 to further up along Jalan Trus to shop #12, before moving again to its current address at Jalan Dhoby in 2016 👈 click
