Stalls I Like @ 127 Toa Payoh West Lorong 1 Food Centre · Small Hawker Centre Rich in Nostalgia

127_Toa_Payoh_West_Lorong_1_Food_Centre

Toa Payoh West Market & Food Centre is a nostalgic place for me as I past here literally a thousand times during my secondary school days - my school, First Toa Payoh Secondary was just across the road. I still come here occasionally as there are a few nice old hawker stalls at the food centre on the upper floor.

Handpicked Best of Beauty World Food Centre · What to Eat Near Bukit Timah Nature Reserve

Best_Beauty_World_Food_Centre_What_Eat_Bukit_Timah_Nature_Reserve

I used to live and work near this private hawker centre at Beauty World Centre. I also come here after my weekly Bukit Timah Hill trek (last time 😜 ). The fourth level hawker centre hasn't changed much physically in the last 20 years. Some old favourites are still here and there are quite a few excellent newcomers. Prices here are comparable with public hawker centres.

Best of Taman Jurong Hawker Centre · Three Levels of Good Food! Ol' Sixty Stalls 六十档

Taman_Jurong_Market_Food_Centre

This well loved food haven began life in 1972 as Yung Sheng Food Centre - the first food centre built under Singapore's hawker centre building programme. It was known affectionately as "Sixty Stalls 六十档" as it had 60 stalls then. It was later demolished, combined with Taman Jurong Market to become Taman Jurong Market & Food Centre which opened in 2005.

Located in Singapore's far west, Taman Jurong serves the factory workers and residents of Singapore's industrial estate. Though there are fewer factories in Jurong today, the food in Taman Jurong still has the old school, gut filling appeal and affordability of its heyday. I've known ol' Sixty Stalls since my days in Jurong Camp (HQ 3 Div).

Best of KOVAN 209 Food Centre · Heartland Hawker Haven with Kampong Spirit

KOVAN_209_Food_Centre

Folks who live near Kovan 209 Market & Food Centre are blessed with a market with fresh produce and a hawker centre with many food stalls.
No national champion stalls here but lots of tasty comfort dishes at reasonable prices. Many of the stalls are decades old brands run by veteran hawkers or their second and third generations. I have been to Kovan 209 food centre many times in the past 30 years and these are the stalls that I have tried and like. Nothing mind blowing but the vibes of the place and comforting food here evoke a certain happiness and contentment of home.

History of Indonesian Cuisine in Singapore Hawker Culture

Singapore hawker culture is the proverbial melting pot of cuisines from north, south, east, west, all directions around our sunny island. From our immediate south and west, Indonesians have long contributed their culinary heritage to our rich hawker culture.

To appreciate the history of Indonesian cuisine in Singapore, we start with the history of Indonesia and Indonesian immigration.

Stall by Stall Guide to the Best & Famous @ Golden Mile Food Centre

Golden Mile Food Centre is close to many Singaporean hearts and stomachs. I come here regularly since my National Service days in the late 70s. I used to come here to stock up on Army supplies but now it is the many good food stalls that draw me here regularly.

The Army market upstairs is a mere shadow of its heydays because our soldiers are so well supplied nowadays. But, the food centre below have thrived to a level I have not seen before. These are the most popular and famous food stalls at Golden Mile Food Centre.

Albert Centre Market & Food Centre @ Bugis > 💯 Hawker Stalls Johor Kaki Pick the Most Popular for You

Albert_Centre_Market_Food_Centre

When I need to go to Sim Lim Tower for computer or camera gear, Albert Centre food centre is one of the options for a good hawker breakfast or lunch. Albert Centre is a popular choice for folks who come to the Bugis - Rochor area for shopping. The food centre is also a magnet for worshippers from the Kuan Im & Sri Krishnan temples, mosque and churches near by. The age profile of diners here tend to be older as the younger set understandably gravitate towards the trendy F & B concepts over at the Bugis side. There are some 100 food stalls at Albert Centre. These are some of the popular stalls.

This was my favourite lunch place when I attended courses at the Civil Service College in my previous life. I still come here regularly for lunch when I have medical appointments at nearby NUH (National University Hospital).
