Jacques Torres Chocolate in NYC New York

This is a little smart local tip, especially for chocolate lovers ;-D

If you are in West Village and need a place to cool your heels and curl up with a body and soul warming hot drink, this is it.

Of course, there are countless coffee joints around the City but why settle for another latte when there is something special for you in West Village? (Disclosure: I am a chocolate lover.)

My thanks to Viviene, johorkaki's New York City reader, who showed me this little hideout ;-D

Jacques Torres Chocolate.

Come in ;-D

You can enjoy your hot chocolate on these little tables and chairs.

They are really comfortable.

For larger groups, there are these soft couches.

Jacques Torres Chocolate is a cocoa boutique bar where we can buy many different types of artisanal chocolates. Some of Jacques Torres' chocolate products are made right here at the shop, so we can smell the seductive cocoa aroma while sipping our hot chocolate.

People come in all the time to pick up chocolate gifts.

The master behind this chocolate haven is Master Pastry Chef Monsieur Jacques Torres, fondly known as Mr. Chocolate. Besides his many credentials and accolades through his illustrious career, Jacques Torres is also the current Dean of Pastry Arts at the International Culinary Center in NYC.

Just a sample of the chocolate offerings. I am here for the award winning hot chocolate drink, so you have to come and see it for yourself ;-p

NYC style chocolate chip cookies.

Not sure what this pretty is ;-p

It's Christmas season, so there were numerous festive themed chocolates.

Besides chocolate gifts, Jacques Torres fans are here for his award winning hot chocolate beverages at the chocolate bar.

I tried the Classic dark chocolate drink, and the Wicked, which is the same pure chocolate beverage spiked with a bit of ancho and chipotle peppers.

I liked both ;-D

The chocolate was rich, perhaps it will be a little too rich for many people. Do ask the staff for a cup of water to help wash it down ;-D

As for me, I like my chocolate thick and rich ;-D

The shop front isn't very visibly prominent from the street, so do check your map when going to Jacques Torres Chocolate.
