Puteri Harbour is the hangout, chill out place of choice of JB folks and visitors. There are many dining and drinking options here. Newly opened 7 Grapes offers a moderately priced option to enjoy the view of the marina and sea breeze while sipping wine with freshly made tapas.
7 Grapes is a little joint fitting snuggly between Magnum and Brussels Beer, the stalwarts here along this popular partying strip.
The signage of 7 Grapes is quite small, so it is easy to walk pass it without noticing, if one is not paying attention. So, look out for this large mural of hanging grapes and remember the unit number LG-07.
7 Grapes is the brainchild of Shuren and his wife Dhalya, supported in the kitchen by Chef Shark and Chef Burn (not in picture).
Dhalya runs 7 Grapes full time while Shuren still works with Fullerton Hotel in Singapore. 7 Grapes is a fruit of Shuren's years of experience in fine catering, menu engineering, F & B management, hotels and hospitality.
7 Grapes stocks moderately priced Old and New World wines ranging from RM100+ to RM300+. The wines are personally selected by Shuren, so we are assured of the best value for our RM 😄
From the little kitchen, Chefs Burn and Shark, dish out fusion tapas to complement the wines and beer (only draft Carlsberg at the moment).
Greek Salad with House Dressing (RM11+).
A traditional Greek farmer's salad with fresh tomato wedges, cucumber slices, julienned capsicum, lettuce etc and savoury-salty feta (goat) cheese. Drizzled with a zesty tangy house blended dressing.
Roasted Red Pepper Tomato Sauce (RM10+).
Creamy zesty tangy savoury sweet sauce dressed with olive oil and cream. I can eat lots of pasta with this 😄
Wild Mushroom Soup (RM11+).
Delicious savoury sweet layers of flavour in a rich creamy soup made by blending three types of mushrooms together. I love the soft gritty texture of countless savoury bits of mushroom in the soup.
Prawn Crostini (RM10+).
I love this. Pieces of crispy spongy French loaf smothered with a creamy sweet savoury prawn sauce with pieces of springy prawn and distinct crustacean umami. Mama mia!
Bacon Wrapped Asparagus Spears (RM11+).
Savoury toasty ribbon of grilled bacon wrapped around a pair of thick crunchy juicy sweet asparagus spears.
Crab Cake (RM13+).
If you are like me who loves the humble flower crab but hate to pick out the delicate slivers of meat from the shells, then this crab cake is for you (and me). Thanks to Chefs Shark and Burn, they patiently extracted the meat from the crabs, made patties, wrapped them with biscuit crumbs and then fried them in hot oil. Nice layers of sweetness from the crisp crust outside and the moist crab meat inside.
Crispy Skin Pork Belly (RM22+).
Well there is no beer food better than good old savoury-salty toasty crispy sio bak..., so there you have it 😄 I especially enjoyed those stalks of grilled green garlic stems saturated with salty gravy under the sio bak.
Grilled Prawn in Garlic Chili Oil.
Savoury spicy sauce complementing the briny sweetness of good size crunchy springy prawns.
Devilled Chicken Drumlets (RM11+).
Fried crispy breaded drumlets. The sauce is tangy savoury and toasty with mild spicy undertones. Not so devilish as its name suggests but familiar comforting beer session BBQ flavours.
Seafood Linguine (RM20+).
In case you feel a little famish after extended chilling out, there's no need to adjourn to a mamak shop for round two. Wrap up the session with pasta from 7 Grapes' kitchen such as this Seafood Linguine.
7 Grapes has a selection of house made sorbets and gelato.
Zesty sourish sweet refreshing Yuzu Sorbet (RM11+).
A creamy gelato for Earl Grey fans (RM11+).
Dhalya's creation - refreshing spicy Ginger Gelato (RM11+).
