Making good margarine toast needs a quick eye and fast hands

The popular stall does a brisk business throughout the day and night. Customers stop over at all hours, and I saw some Singapore cars too.

The kacang pool set which costs RM4 comes with a bowl of thick lumpy gravy and a thick margarine toast (2012 price).

The kacang pool gravy is made mainly with broad beans, ground peanuts, minced beef, and curry spices.

Its unique flavour is hard to describe. It is smooth yet grainy and nutty in some parts, and has a slightly savoury and sourish taste with a bit of beefy flavour and aroma. Though flavoursome from spices it is not spicy hot at all.

It is eaten by breaking the bread and using the kacang pool gravy as the dip.

The thick white bread was very nicely toasted. It was slightly crispy on the outside and inside it was tender and soft. It went very well with the dip to make a delicious tea time snack.

Give kacang pool a try if you have not eaten it before. Many people got hooked on it after tasting it at Kacang Pool Haji.
