Hainan Hojiak Corner • Delicious Beef Noodle in Kulai Johor 海南祖传真好吃海南粉

When talking about Hainanese beef noodle in Kulai, the first thing that come to most people's mind is the legendary Mok Gao. Last night, buddy Patrick alerted me to another place, Hainan Hojiak Corner. I just tried their beef noodle this morning and it is indeed a worthy alternative 💪 Thank you Patrick 🙏

Restaurant name: Hainan Hojiak Corner 海南祖传真好吃海南粉

Address: 548, Jalan Kenanga 29/18, Bandar Indahpura, 81000 Kulai, Johor

Tel: +6019 307 8339

Hours: 6:00am - 3:00pm (Weds off)

Hainan Hojiak Corner is a shoplot eatery in Indrapura, Kulai near to Aeon Jusco Kulai. It has plentiful doorstep parking.

There's pork or beef, dry or soup with various kinds of noodles.

Wait time is rather long (about 20 minutes) this Friday morning but sitting near the stove, I was treated to the free smell of beef aroma as they blanched the meat there.

I opted for beef, dry, small serving (price RM8). I usually start small to save stomach space for other stalls.

The mound of Hainanese style rice noodle was smothered in a dark gooey sauce. It was topped with various cuts of beef from lean to tendon and tripe. Garnished with chopped cilantro and fried peanut with a dash of white pepper.

The tender noodles were entirely smothered and enveloped with the tasty sliky brown sauce.

The thick gooey sauce is a tasty blend of sweet savoury beefy. The mouthful with the noodles have more sweetness, the mouthful with soft-tender chewy beef have more beefiness, those with herbs got more aromatics, with nuts got nuttiness, you get the idea.

Wonderful 👍💪

Some of the beef was slightly chewy which is better than too mushy soft, I find in some stalls.

Pro-top: Next time, I shall order the small serving as usual as I don't want more carbs, then add more more beef but the soft-tender cuts like tendon and belly

The light brownish soup was savoury beefy tangy peppery from beef and kiam chye (salt preserved vegetable).

Chili sauce is savoury spicy sweet, like the Hainanese chicken rice type.

Hainan Hojiak Corner has one of my favourite beef noodle in Johor and Singapore now. Thank you Patrick for your recommendation 🙏
